The States of Guernsey is looking for an Assistant Harbourmaster to join their team at Guernsey Harbours. The post holder will support a wide range of marine activity in Guernsey in delivering dynamic 24/7 Port and Coastguard operations. He/she will manage an explicit portfolio of responsibility and, as a member of the team, be required to work alongside other Marine professionals on a number of challenging and varied projects and activities.
Day to day he/she will be responsible for ensuring Guernsey Harbours has an appropriate Marine Safety Management System (MSMS) which meets not only the needs of the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) but, as the business grows, has the ability to adapt and integrate new opportunities.
As well as fulfilling a management role, the post holder will be part of the on call Duty Harbour Officer roster. As Duty Harbour Officer you will be expected to respond and provide leadership at short notice to marine emergency and urgent operational issues.
