Safety & Security

Guernsey Ports is required to operate in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) which is enforced locally through the Security of Ship and Port Facilities (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2004.

Part of these requirements is to screen passengers, vehicles, freight and visitors prior to entry into the Restricted Area (RA) and ensure anyone entering the RA has a bone fide reason for doing so.

People who work in the RA or access the RA routinely should be in possession of a Personal Security Pass.

Those who need to enter on occasion for delivery or collection of goods can obtain a Freight Collection/Delivery Form from the Shipper.

NB. Photo I.D. such as a Driving License or Passport will be required at the entry point into the RA for non-passholders. Safety boots, hard-hat and high visibility vest will also be required.

Queries regarding port security, access to the RA and security passes should be directed to:guernsey.harbour@gov.gg or telephone 01481 220229 (Option 6).
