Clare Chapple joined Guernsey Ports last year as a Vessel Traffic Services Officer.
As a VTS Officer, Clare provides vital information to commercial ships and leisure vessels, and helps to control movements in and out of St Peter Port & St Sampson's Harbours.
Outside of work, Clare enjoys being out on the water and will be a familiar face to many through her involvement with local charity The Guernsey Sailing Trust.
"I would encourage all women to pursue qualifications and careers that they are passionate about," said Clare, who holds professional qualifications in VTS and is a member of the Royal Yachting Association qualified in both sailing and power boating.
"Don't be afraid to buck the trend - you should never hold back on following your dreams or passion because only the boys are doing it!"
