Guernsey Ports returns to the Southampton Boat Show for 2021

Guernsey Ports will be at the UK's biggest boat show in Southampton later this month to promote what the Bailiwick has to offer to UK and global marine markets.

Guernsey Ports and the States of Alderney will be joining Ports of Jersey, on a joint stand at the event.

Guernsey Ports' Managing Director, Colin Le Ray said:

"Guernsey Ports can highlight to a wider audience the superb marine environment the Bailiwick has to offer. It is important that we use events like the boat show to better understand market trends, new developments, and to meet global marine sector stakeholders. It's also a great chance to promote what the islands have to offer visiting and the growing domestic marine traffic of all shapes and sizes in the future."

Guernsey's Harbourmaster Captain David Barker said:

"I'm delighted that Guernsey Ports will be at the Southampton Boat Show in 2021. Our coastline and surrounding waters are a tremendous asset and it is important that we take this opportunity to show off what the Bailiwick's marine sector has to offer. The show is the biggest maritime showcase event in the UK and gives us the chance to attract new and repeat visitors.  At the same time, we can see first-hand what our competitors have to offer. I would like to thank Ports staff who've been working very hard behind the scenes to make sure we present the Bailiwick in the best possible light."

Assistant Harbourmaster at Guernsey Ports Kieran Higgs said:

"The Southampton Boat Show is an ideal opportunity to promote our excellent Bailiwick waters and surrounding islands, continuing to encourage adventurous sailors to head slightly further afield and be rewarded with un spoilt cruising grounds. With the growth in demand for local berths and moorings resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bailiwick benefit's economically and socially as a result. The event is a prime time to meet key industry stakeholders and members of the public who are deciding where and when to visit on their vessels in 2022 as travel restrictions continue to ease."

The boat show will feature several marine manufacturers launching new vessel models, to destinations looking to boost visiting traffic and runs between 10 September and 19 September 2021.
