Launch & Recovery of Personal Watercraft (PWC's) at St Sampson's Harbour.

Mariners are advised that from 09:00 on 23rd August 2019, approved Personal Watercraft (PWC) users will be permitted to launch & recover their craft from La Crocq slipway in St Sampson's Harbour as part of a six month trial by Guernsey Harbours.

To obtain a permit, PWC users must present their insurance documentation, proof of ownership and a description of their craft at the Harbour Office in St Peter Port. Users will be asked to complete the application form (below) and will then be issued with a permit.

The temporary permit will be valid for the individual person and the specific PWC. It must be updated should a new craft be purchased by the permit holder, or their contact details change. Failure to do so will result in the removal of the permit.

Any PWC's launched & recovered in St Sampson's Harbour must not impede the safe navigation of any commercial or pleasure vessels within the confines of the harbour / St Sampson's Marina.

This is a relaxation, on a six month trial basis of the existing laws concerning the launch and recovery of PWC within harbours around Guernsey and should not be abused.

Users are reminded that the launch and recovery of PWC within the confines of St Peter Port Harbour remains prohibited under the Harbours Ordinance 1988.
