Guernsey Ports support Ports of Jersey Ltd appeal for aid for people in Caribbean

September 2017

Guernsey Ports are supporting Ports of Jersey Ltd appeal for aid for the people in the Caribbean. Please help us by donating items to help people in the Caribbean who have been affected by the hurricanes.

A collection point has been created at Guernsey Harbours Marina Office on Albert Pier, which will be open daily between 6am and 10pm. Please check-in at the Marina Office on arrival.

They are asking islanders to give the following essential items but please note, clothes, toys and water will not be accepted.

Once a sufficient amount of items has been collected, they will be shipped to St Helier, where Ports of Jersey Ltd will then make arrangements to have these transported to Guadeloupe and then transferred onto the affected regions.

Harbour Master, Captain Chad Murray said "We are delighted to be able to support the appeal. Although the Caribbean is a long way away from Guernsey, there are many islanders with links out there either through business, family or friends. The pictures we have seen in the media are shocking and the devastation is simply horrifying. Please donate items as per the list which will assist in the Caribbean islanders to rebuild their communities."
